Catch up

Ah ... the sun is shining and things are getting done.
What a late spring this has been with all of the rain. Dave's still trying to get his corn planted. This week looks good as far as weather goes so it's going to be busy, busy around here. Once the corn is in, it will be straight into the beans.
I managed to get quite a few things done last week that have been hanging over my head for awhile.
I've been working on my GST return since the beginning of April. It shouldn't take much time, but I just kept putting it off. Finally got that out of the way.
Also finished up the bathroom. I had stripped the wallpaper and painted the trim and such in March but then had to wait for the wallpaper to come in. When the wallpaper finally arrived a month later, I didn't feel like getting back at it. It took the better part of the day on Wednesday and I love it.
I also reworked the mirror that was in there. My FIL had made the frame for me when I originally redid the bathroom about 8 years ago. It's wood, but the joints weren't overly neat and I had stained it a green colour. The green isn't the same green that is in there now, so I covered it with paintable wallpaper I had left from another project and painted it to match the trim. I probably should take a photo or two so you can see.
I still need to get a few accesories for the room. Maybe make something.
What else ...
Paul had speech therapy on Monday.
I went to the schoool on Tuesday to help with the reading program in the classroom.
Bob was home sick with a mild flu for 3 days.
And Paul went for an appointment at the ear doctor on Friday. Everything is perfect so we won't have to go back again.
I did a little bit of scrapbooking here and there but the room is such a mess right now that it's hard to concentrate. Haha.
I've gone through all of the photos I want to scrap and realized that I have toooooo many to continue scrapping the way I normally do. I'm just not ever going to get them done. So I've been trying out a few different ways to include more photos and use less time. I'm not sure I've hit on a style that I'm completely satisfied with, but it's coming.
I think this may be my favorite of the bunch. It still looks like "me" but uses very few supplies and took about 1/2 hour to complete. I'm sure that's longer than it needs to take, but I couldn't decide if it was done or not.

This is also a style I'll be using more frequently now. I just bought a few of the Fancy Pants albums. They come with five 12x12 top-loading sheets and also five 12x12 protectors divided into six individual 4x6 slots. Soooo quick.
I used some ancient American Crafts letter stickers for the title and outlined them roughly with brown marker to help them stand out a bit.
This style also solves a bit of my problem of bulk in my albums because it is essentially flat.
Ali Edwards uses these divided page protectors quite a bit and I know that she also adds embellishments on top of the protector. So I plan on experimenting a bit with that too.

This last one is probably my least favorite. Again, it's pretty flat. I managed to jam a whole buncha photos on it and use up some old rub-ons, letter stickers and a die-cut (feels great to be using up old stash) and then I just hand-wrote bits from the day all over the place. I had hoped it would have a carefree fell to it, but now I just think it looks messy. Maybe it will grow on me.

I'd love to see how everyone else does quick layouts with multiple photos. Feel free to post a link or two ;)
This week is going to be another busy one.
School for reading program and Bob has a dentist appointment tomorrow.
And I want to get started on the laundry room now. Same paint and wallpaper as in the bathroom so I have everything ready to roll. But it's going to be fiddly stuff that I'm not really looking forward to. Poo.
Have a great week!

I like the divided pages - I think I may do those for an annual BBQ we have and put a few questions on 4x6 pieces of pattern paper leaving room for a picture then have the kids at the party fill on out and I will add their picture. It's our fifth annual BBQ with the same 10 families so I think it will be a cool thing to look back at years from now. Love the colors you used.

I'm not sure if it's the same one or not. I just happened to see it the last time I was at the LSS.
I'm pretty sure I've seen the 4x6 page protectors for sale on their own somewhere too.
