Some stuff

Here are a few of the layouts I did for the Noel Mignon online crop last week.
The first one was one of Greta's challenges. The first part was to take a photo of your scrap space. Later in the day, she issued the second part of the challenge ... to complete a layout using only items on your desk. As luck would have it, I had received an order from Scraphoria the day before and the Basic Grey Ambrosia pack was right on top.

My biggest problem was that my border punches were under my desk, so I wouldn't be able to use them. I've become addicted to border punches in recent months. I can't seem to do anything without punching along the border anymore. I came up with an acceptable alternative though by using the border stickers that came in the pack. I also made another border by using two different sized circle punches (which were on my desk ;) and popping them up with adhesive foam.
One of the other items I had sitting on my desk was the Fancy Pants Glitter Cut that came with the Noel Mignon Blue Skies kit last month. The colours were perfect with the Ambrosia papers.

I tied in the glitter from the journaling block to other areas of the layout by using Ranger Stickles over the title letter stickers and on the smaller circle in my border.
I outlined all of the sticker elements with a grey Sakura Souflee pen and used Colorbox Chalk Ink (charcoal) around the edges of the papers and for my journaling with Hero Arts letter stamps.
A few MAMBI gems here and there finished it off.

Monday's sketch challenge was by Jana. I won this Scenic Route Grafton kit from Work In Progress Kits months ago and am thrilled to finally be digging into it. I can't believe how quickly a layout can come together when you just follow a sketch.

Tuesday's challenge was Greta again ... to use ephermia on a layout.

All of the K&Co. papers and die cuts are from the Studio Calico add-on from last month. I loved them when I saw them, but wasn't sure if I'd ever use them once I got them. I'm so glad I decided to grab them when I did because I think they suit the photo so well.

This vintage postcard was part of a bundle that I found at an estate sale this past summer. I thought it was just perfect.

nd last week, while at the local antique store, I picked up a huge bag of buttons ... mostly glass, some ivory (I think). Very heavy.
